Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Insurance Sales & Service Representative to join our small, local insurance office. This position is responsible for developing new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and providing exceptional service for personal and commercial insurance customers. The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, is detail-oriented, and can manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced office environment.
Primary ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Generate new business opportunities through referrals, networking, marketing initiatives, and community involvement.
- Conduct insurance reviews and identify coverage needs for prospective and existing clients.
- Quote, sell, and bind auto, home, life, and commercial insurance policies.
- Cross-sell additional insurance products to meet client needs and increase account retention.
- Follow up on leads, quotes, and renewal opportunities.
- Meet established sales goals and performance objectives.
Customer Service
- Provide outstanding service to policyholders by phone, email, and in person.
- Assist clients with policy changes, endorsements, renewals, billing questions, and coverage inquiries.
- Explain coverage options, exclusions, and policy benefits in a clear and professional manner.
- Process applications, policy updates, and documentation accurately and timely.
- Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and account reviews.
Commercial Insurance Support
- Assist business owners with commercial insurance needs, including property, liability, workers' compensation, commercial auto, and business package policies.
- Gather underwriting information and prepare applications for carriers.
- Review coverage recommendations and assist with policy servicing throughout the policy term.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate client records and agency management system documentation.
- Follow carrier underwriting guidelines and agency procedures.
- Process incoming mail, correspondence, and policy documents.
- Support office operations and assist team members as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and comply with all insurance regulations.
Qualifications
- Tennessee Property & Casualty Insurance License preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Life & Health License preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous insurance, sales, customer service, banking, or office experience preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency with computers, email, and office software.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a small team environment.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
