1. Position Summary
The Insurance Specialist is responsible for managing all insurance-related activities across the company’s asset portfolio, including marine, aviation, vehicle, and other asset classes within company activities. The role ensures that all assets remain adequately insured throughout the entire lifecycle of each deal, that insurance documentation fully complies with contractual and regulatory requirements, and that insurance risks are proactively identified, monitored, and mitigated in close coordination with internal teams and external insurers and brokers.
2. Key Responsibilities
Insurance Administration & Compliance

Manage placement, renewal, and administration of insurance policies including H&M, P&I, War Risk, Liability, and other relevant policies or general insurance agreements.

Review insurance terms in contractual documents to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date insurance schedules, including policy terms, coverage limits, deductibles, and premium timelines.

Ensure timely receipt, verification, and archiving of insurance certificates, endorsements, quotations, debit notes, invoices, and proof of premium payments.
Coordination & Communication

Communicate with insurance brokers, insurers regarding policy placement, renewals, and ongoing insurance requirements.

Work closely with internal company units to align on insurance obligations and documentation standards.

Provide insurance-related support for audits, due diligence processes, and bank reporting.
Risk Monitoring & Claims Support

Monitor key insurance obligations under contractual documents, including compliance with minimum coverage and renewal deadlines.

Support the claims process, including documentation collection, coordination with insurers/brokers, and internal reporting.

Identify emerging insurance risks and propose appropriate mitigation measures.
Financial & Reporting Duties

Verify insurance invoices, debit notes, and track premium payments

Track premium payments, renewal schedules, and insurer commitments.

Prepare internal reports on insurance status, risk exposure, claims progress, and renewal pipelines.
Professional Background

Proven experience in marine insurance gained within an insurance company, shipowner/operator, or insurance brokerage.

Strong understanding of insurance for marine, aviation, vehicle, and other corporate assets.

Languages
