The Senior Operations Specialist - US is a team member of 4PL Control Tower. Candidate work remotely from San Francisco.

He/she ensures daily execution of the services in scope, and commits to first class level of the respective services (e.g. Order Fulfilment, Transport Management, Freight

Settlement, Request and Deviation Management, Visibility and Monitoring), according to the contractual agreements made with the customer.

He/she interacts with relevant counterparts of the involved parties for all services in scope.

Settlement, Request and Deviation Management, Visibility and Monitoring), according to the contractual agreements made with the customer.


He/she interacts with relevant counterparts of the involved parties for all services in scope.

How you create impact
  • Act as a main contact for the services in scope
  • Coordinate transport services for customer orders, using transport management systems. Handle exceptional & special transport requests
  • Select transport modes, logistics service providers (considering the agreed selection parameters) to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery service in full
  • Handle manual order entries
  • Execute administrative tasks (e.g. cost allocations, effort reporting) and prepare/send standard reports (e.g. document monitoring & forecast)
  • Pick-up notifications and load plans
  • Receive & respond in time to requests from relevant stakeholders (such as Customer requests, LSP requests, etc.)
  • Execute event monitoring services to guarantee agreed delivery service. Check and open deviation reports based on event monitoring
  • Issue or receive as well as respond to deviations reported, by identifying root cause, causing party and proposing corrective actions
  • Recognize and escalate operational issues impacting the service in time to your management
  • Receive and respond to proof of delivery requests
  • Cooperate with other team members/departments/control towers in order to assure quality service
  • Execute and support freight settlement activities in scope
  • Support implementation of new processes, i.e. execute user acceptance tests
  • Recognize and address system related issues impacting the services to be provided
  • Provide input for quality review meetings with customers or providers
  • Participate in respective meetings within the scope of responsibilities (e.g.internal/external meetings, conference calls, audits, customer visits, if applicable)
  • Show ownership within the area of responsibility and execute tasks with expected level of productivity & performance
  • Contribute to continues improvement initiatives of the current team and 4PL Control Tower overall
  • Adhere to existing K + N Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures and Working Instructions following the business process mapping (BPM) structure
What we would like you to bring
  • At least 3 year of working experience in the logistics and/or customer service sector, or equivalent level of education
  • Knowledge & understanding of Road and Sea transport
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to understand and execute new processes
  • Interest to work with transport management systems
  • Interest to work with statistical data/figures
  • Good knowledge of MS office features
  • Ability to fulfil time-critical tasks, keep schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Acting and behaving in line with KN Behaviours
  • Strong affinity with required customer quality standards as well as general quality standards (such as QSHE or GXP)
  • Understand & respect the company confidentiality and compliance regulations (Code of Conduct, IL Code of Conduct)
