Responsible for performing a combination of professional level probation and parole functions to include monitoring and assessing of electronic surveillance alerts; communicates with the offender population, responder agent, other law enforcement agencies, victims or other entities and documents as necessary for GPS purposes; serves as the central PPP communications for GPS responses, special operations and during non-traditional hours for the Field Agents; responds to NCIC hits along with NCIC entry as necessary, assists with SLED/ Fusion Center and conducts some intelligence investigations.
A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience in probation and parole work. An associate’s degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.A Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, education, counseling or other social/behavioral sciences or a Bachelor’s degree which included at least 15 semester hours in the aforementioned disciplines and completion of two (2) years of Agent Career Track experience or other law enforcement career track.
