Responsibilities:
Interface Coordination
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of signaling and communications systems with existing and new infrastructure.
  • Define, track, and manage technical and operational interfaces between subsystems (Signaling, Telecom, SCADA, PSD, Trackwork, Civil).
  • Maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Matrices, and ensure mutual acceptance between involved parties.
  • Manage interface schedules and ensure alignment with the overall project timeline.
  • Lead interface coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders (civil contractors, client, authorities, suppliers), NAT (National Authority for Tunnels), consultants, and the internal project team, to align on project requirements, timelines, and technical specifications.
  • Facilitate effective communication and resolution of interface-related issues between internal and external stakeholders, including NAT, contractors, and other system providers.
  • Prepare and present regular updates, reports, and documentation to keep all parties informed and aligned on interface developments.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to system interface integration, especially in terms of signaling and communication systems with existing operational constraints.
  • Proactively troubleshoot interface issues that could impact project timelines, safety, or operational continuity, proposing alternative solutions and adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure that all interface activities adhere to project standards, local and international regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with the quality assurance team to monitor compliance with industry standards and project-specific technical guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with CBTC signaling and Telecommunication system deployments.
  • Strong understanding of rail systems integration and multi-discipline coordination.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, civil interfaces, and systems integrators.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills to effectively manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder expectations.
  • Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, and interface management software.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Technical and Management Skills:
  • Act as the primary contact for all interface-related issues during construction to commissioning between the consortium partner, vendors, and internal subject area teams.
  • Develop and maintain interface management plans, including documentation of requirements, specifications, and agreements.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure that interface requirements are incorporated into design specifications. Review technical documentation and drawings to verify compliance with interface requirements.
  • Ensure that interfaces between different components of the railway system (e.g., track, signaling, power, civil and rolling stock) are effectively managed to minimize conflicts and delays. Establish criteria to assess each interface based on its criticality, complexity, and risk.
  • Overseeing the creation and development of Systems Interface Control Documents (ICD) by technical leads, ensuring ICDs cover all aspects of an interface's lifecycle from design through installation, testing, commissioning, and beyond.
  • Coordinating and facilitating regular interface meetings with the consortium partner, vendors, and internal discipline teams to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to identify interface issues, resolve conflicts, and track progress.
  • Act as a liaison between project teams and external stakeholders to communicate interface requirements and resolve issues. Establishing and maintaining metrics and conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with interface management processes and procedures.
  • Developing cost and time estimates for new or proposed programs, including an assessment of foreseeable risks.
  • Coordinate closely with project stakeholders, including contractors, NAT (National Authority for Tunnels), consultants, and the internal project team, to align on project requirements, timelines, and technical specifications.
Testing & Commissioning Support:
  • Ensure interface readiness for Testing & Commissioning (T&C) phases.
  • Coordinate with T&C teams to resolve installation/interface issues blocking progress.
  • Provide inputs for phased handover and support punch-list clearance related to interface it
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Review and approve interface and installation documentation (layouts, installation drawings, interface control procedures).
  • Prepare progress reports, risk registers, and interface issue logs for management and client.
  • Ensure interface records and approvals are properly maintained and documented.
HSE & Compliance:
  • Ensure that installation activities follow all relevant safety regulations and
  • site-specific HSE plans.
  • Promote interface risk identification and mitigation planning in coordination with safety and quality teams.
Ideally you should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Telecom, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in metro/railway projects, with at least 5 years in an interface or installation management role.
  • Proven experience in interface management for large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the transportation, construction, or rail industry.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and technical writing skills.
Work Conditions:
  • Location: Alexandria, Egypt (Project-based)
  • Frequent site visits across 20 stations and the depot.
  • Coordination with international and local stakeholders
