About the Role
We are looking for an Interim Compliance & Finance Lead (Chartered Accountant or equivalent) to manage compliance, filings, audits, valuations, and investor reporting for Clients India-based operations. In this early phase, the India team functions as a freelancer-style support unit for our Dubai HQ.
This is a fractional role designed for the pre-funding phase, with the opportunity to transition into a senior leadership or CFO-track role after funding.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance & Filings
- Handle MCA/ROC filings, GST/TDS, labor law compliance, and maintain statutory registers
- Own the compliance calendar and ensure timely delivery of all filings
Finance & Reporting
- Maintain clean books for cash flow, burn rate, and runway visibility
- Prepare investor-grade reports: P&L, balance sheet, due diligence packs
Audits & External Coordination
- Liaise with auditors (Deloitte/Meridian) and tax advisors for statutory and investor audits
- Ensure audit preparedness with up-to-date documentation
Funding Support & Valuations
- Support financial modeling, cap table maintenance, and valuation materials for fundraising
- Assist in setting up and maintaining dual-class structures and ESOP ledgers
Cross-Border Coordination
- Monitor India ↔ UAE/Singapore fund flows under FEMA
- Ensure all financial operations comply with cross-border regulatory requirements
Investor & HQ Liaison
- Prepare investor snapshots, cap table updates, and governance documentation
- Ensure timely communication of financial status to Dubai HQ and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Background
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent
- 3–6 years of experience in finance, compliance, or startup accounting
- Deep knowledge of Indian statutory requirements: MCA, ROC, GST, TDS, FEMA
- Proficiency in preparing investor-ready packs, financial statements, and compliance docs
- Experience with startup funding, cap tables, and ESOPs
- Familiarity with AI tools, automation, and modern accounting platforms
- Strong reporting, documentation, and coordination skills
- English proficiency; passport holder preferred.
Ideal Profile
- Prior experience as Finance Manager, Compliance Officer, or Startup Accountant
- Worked in VC-funded startups or with cross-border investor coordination
- Comfortable working in lean, high-trust environments
- Able to scale from fractional workload to full-time leadership post-funding.
Compensation & Structure
- Pre-Funding: ₹25,000 – ₹40,000/month (Part-time: 1–2 days per week)
- Contract/freelancer-style engagement under Client (Dubai)
- Post-Funding Growth Path: Senior Finance/Compliance leadership or CFO-track opportunity.

This is a fractional interim role during the bootstrapped, pre-funding phase of Client. Upon securing funding, this position will evolve into a full-time global finance leadership role, contributing to audit management, international compliance, and investor relations across UAE, Singapore, and India.
