Interim Quality Manager

Position Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and executing Triad’s Quality function, with full ownership of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and direct responsibility for product quality, supplier quality, and corrective action effectiveness.

This role requires a hands-on Quality leader with experience in electronics or electromechanical manufacturing, including transformers, inductors, or power-related products. The Quality Manager must be comfortable working with suppliers, engineers, and production teams to resolve real quality issues, not just administer compliance processes.

This is not a purely administrative or policy-focused QMS role. Success in this position depends on deep practical experience in IQC, OQC, failure analysis, CAR/CAPA, and continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities

Quality Management System (Primary Ownership)

  • Own and maintain Triad’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Prepare for and lead internal audits, Management Reviews, and external audits
  • Maintain controlled procedures, records, and document change processes
  • Support customer quality system audits as required
  • Ensure CAPA processes are effective, tracked, and closed with evidence

Incoming, In-Process & Outgoing Quality

  • Oversee Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), and nonconforming material processes
  • Ensure inspection plans, test methods, and acceptance criteria are properly defined
  • Review and approve DMRs, rework, scrap, and use-as-is dispositions
  • Ensure Certificates of Compliance are accurate and traceable

Failure Analysis & Corrective Action (Critical)

  • Lead or actively support failure analysis for product returns, RMAs, and field issues
  • Guide structured root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and evidence-based investigation
  • Author, review, and close Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and CAPAs
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and prevent recurrence

Supplier Quality Management

  • Serve as the primary quality interface with overseas and domestic suppliers
  • Define and maintain supplier quality requirements and expectations
  • Track supplier performance metrics and quality trends
  • Coordinate supplier corrective actions and follow-up
  • Support supplier audits when required

Engineering & Operations Interface

  • Provide quality input into design reviews, ECNs/ECRs, and new product introductions
  • Work closely with Engineering on test methods, specifications, and risk reduction
  • Support Production and Fulfillment in resolving day-to-day quality issues
  • Ensure quality requirements are practical, effective, and aligned with business needs

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive quality improvement initiatives using PDCA, Lean, or Kaizen principles
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Reduce escapes, rework, and supplier defects over time
  • Help build a culture focused on prevention rather than inspection

Required Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience in Quality Management or Quality Engineering
  • Hands-on quality experience in electronics, electromechanical, or power products
  • Direct experience with:

  • Supplier quality management
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Experience supporting or working within AS9100 environments
