Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to join our creative team! In this role, you will support senior designers and project managers by assisting with conceptual design, technical drafting, and client presentations. Duties
- Assist in developing design concepts through sketches, mood boards, and digital renderings using tools like SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Prepare detailed drawings and plans utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D), and Bluebeam for client presentations and construction documentation
- Support project management tasks including budgeting, scheduling, and tracking project milestones
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors on lighting sales, remodeling, renovation, and construction details
- Contribute to lighting design projects by selecting fixtures and creating lighting plans aligned with interior aesthetics and functionality
- Conduct site visits to assist with renovation and remodeling efforts; document progress through photographs and reports
- Assist in drafting contracts, proposals, and specifications ensuring clarity and compliance with project requirements
Requirements
- Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D), Bluebeam, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite for drafting and visualization tasks
- Knowledge of interior design principles including color theory, space planning, lighting design, and CAD drafting techniques
- Experience with project management processes such as budgeting, scheduling, and client communication
- Strong understanding of construction processes, renovation procedures, and contract documentation
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, and team members
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- A background or coursework in interior design or related field is preferred; certification or experience in lighting sales or remodeling is a plus
