Melissa Hoffmann Interiors, LLC is seeking a skilled, professional, and detail-oriented Design Assistant to support our growing, high-end interior design firm. We specialize in luxury interior design and remodeling projects throughout Hampton Roads and beyond.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys supporting a creative team, staying organized, and helping projects run smoothly behind the scenes.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide day-to-day support to the lead designer and team
- Prepare and organize samples and project presentation materials
- Communicate with vendors, contractors, and clients in a professional and customer-focused manner
- Track orders, deliveries, and basic project details
- Help maintain organized project files and documentation, including client-facing documents
- Run occasional errands to vendors or job sites
- Assist with on-site visits as needed
- Adapt to shifting priorities and assist with resolving minor issues as they arise
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Customer service experience or strong interpersonal skills preferred
- Ability to professionally interact with vendors, contractors, and clients
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficient and comfortable using a computer and digital tools
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Willingness to take direction and support the team where needed
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean background check
- Occasional nights or weekends during project installations
- Occasional travel for project installations
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods
- Ability to sit or stand for long durations
- Bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces in various weather conditions
Work Environment
Work is performed in a combination of office and remote settings. Travel to job sites and vendor locations is required, with potential exposure to outdoor elements throughout the year.
Compensation & Schedule
- Job Type: Part-Time
- Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Hours: 8–16 hours per week
- Occasional nights or weekends during project installations
- Occasional travel for project installations
Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 16.0 per week
