Interior Design Consultant

Wichita Home Works, LLC is Wichita’s premier construction, remodeling, and exteriors company. Locally owned and operated since 2015, we specialize in transforming kitchens, bathrooms, home additions, basement finishes, decks, patios, and full-home renovations. Our team delivers high-quality craftsmanship, honest communication, and genuine client relationships—treating every homeowner like family while supporting local suppliers and partners. We’re growing fast and need extra design support during our busiest seasons.

We are looking for a talented Part-Time / Seasonal Designer to join our team on a flexible, hourly, as-needed basis. This role is ideal for an experienced designer who wants to step in when our workload spikes and step back when things slow down. You will work directly alongside our full-time Designer and follow our proven process exactly, helping homeowners bring their vision to life through thoughtful material selections and collaborative design decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead or support material selections for all projects, including cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, fixtures, lighting, paint, and finishes—presenting high-quality samples and options to clients.

- Meet with customers to understand their style preferences, lifestyle needs, and design goals, then guide them toward cohesive, functional, and beautiful solutions.

- Participate in the full project design process, including:

- Initial in-home measures

- Collaboration meetings with our drafters to refine layouts and 3D concepts

- One or more dedicated selections meetings with clients

- On-site trades walks

- Internal final proposal reviews

- Ensure every client feels heard, excited, and confident in their design choices while staying true to our high standards and process.

This is not a full-time or remote position. Hours will vary based on project volume—some weeks you may work 20–30+ hours, other weeks none at all. You must be available for in-home client meetings, on-site visits, and occasional evening/weekend appointments when needed.

What We’re Looking For:

- Proven experience in residential interior design or kitchen/bath design (remodeling experience strongly preferred).

- Strong knowledge of current materials, trends, and product options in the home improvement industry.

- Excellent communication and people skills—you love guiding clients and building trust.

- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

- Professional, positive attitude and a team-player mindset.

- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client homes and job sites across the Wichita metro area.

- Design software familiarity (or quick learner) is a plus, but our drafters handle the heavy CAD/3D work.
