Overview

Kentwood Office Furniture is a leading commercial furniture dealer and interior design partner, creating thoughtful and functional spaces that support the way people work. We’re looking for a motivated and creative Interior Design student to join our team as a Design Intern. This opportunity is ideal for a junior or senior-level student who is eager to gain hands-on experience in commercial interiors and space planning within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support our design team in space planning, product specification, and layout development for real client projects
• Assist with CAD drawings, CET plans, finish selections, and presentation materials
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, and furniture inventories
• Learn how commercial furniture is integrated into workplace design
• Gain exposure to cross-functional teamwork with sales, operations, and installation
• Receive one-on-one mentorship to grow your skills and confidence as a future commercial designer

Desired Skills

• Currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design (junior or senior preferred)
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD required; CET experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive mindset
• Reliable transportation to travel to various Kentwood Office locations, as needed
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute to a team
• Interest in commercial design, space planning, and furniture systems
