Interior Design - Joinery Manufacture

Key Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts specifically for joinery / wooden furniture / custom millwork (e.g., cabinetry, wall paneling, doors, built-ins).
• Produce detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for joinery pieces. (Similar to interior / joinery design roles seen in UAE fit-out companies)
• Prepare mood boards, finish boards, and material specifications (wood types, hardware, veneers).
• Use design software to model joinery pieces in 3D, render visualizations, and present design proposals.
• Coordinate with the production / workshop team to ensure the designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and within tolerance.
• Conduct site visits (if needed) to take measurements, verify conditions, and ensure design feasibility during installation.
• Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, and site supervisors to ensure design intent is maintained during manufacturing and installation.
• Maintain design documentation (drawings, specifications, revisions) and ensure updates are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
• Stay updated with joinery techniques, hardware trends, and sustainable material options.
• Optionally, support quality control by reviewing finished joinery items against design intent.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in interior design with a focus on joinery, fit-out or furniture manufacturing.
• Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Mosaic software is a big plus / preferred.
• Strong ability to produce technical drawings, shop drawings, and detailed design documentation.
• Good understanding of joinery materials (wood, MDF, veneer, hardware) and fabrication processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple teams (manufacturing, site, procurement).
• Ability to manage tasks independently, given the part-time nature of the role.
• Strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month

Experience:

• Interior Design: 3 years (Preferred)
