Join our dynamic team as an Interior Design Sales Associate and become a vital part of transforming spaces into stunning, functional environments! The Interior Design Showroom Associate supports clients in selecting furniture, finishes, and décor, while maintaining an inspiring, well-merchandised showroom and driving sales. This role blends customer service, design advising, and day to day showroom operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet Clients and provide a high level of in-showroom customer service and follow-up's.
- Assist clients with selecting furniture, lighting, fabrics, and finishes that align with their style, budget, and functional needs.
- Create and maintain visually compelling product displays and vignettes; refresh merchandising based on new arrivals, seasons, and promotions.
- Develop quotations, proposals, and product spec sheets; process sales and special orders through the POS system.
- Coordinate with designers, vendors, and warehouses on pricing, lead times, orders, deliveries, and service issues.
- Maintain showroom standards, including cleanliness, signage, tagging, and stocked samples (fabric, finish, catalogs).
- Track and manage basic inventory for the showroom floor and sample library, flagging low stock or best sellers.
- Support in store events, designer presentations, and trade partnerships to grow showroom traffic.
Requirements – Education & Experience:
- Experience with POS systems and basic sales or account management.
- 1–3 years of experience in interior design, home furnishings retail, or a design showroom.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related field preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong customer service and consultative sales skills; comfortable working toward sales goals.
- Solid understanding of interior design principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; able to explain design ideas to trade clients
- Strong organization and follow through for managing multiple clients, quotes, and orders at once.
- Team oriented mindset and willingness to assist with housekeeping, inventory, and event support.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Existing positive relationships with the local interior design community or trade clients.
- Knowledge of specific Vendor or product categories our showroom carries.
