Interior Designer – Hard Finishes & Details
Location: Austin, TX
Type: Full-time
At Joseph Design Build, we design and craft homes that feel effortless—beautiful, functional spaces rooted in good design and thoughtful details. Our integrated team of architects, interior designers, and builders works together under one roof to bring a cohesive vision to life for every project.
We’re looking for an Interior Designer with a strong eye for materials, details, and craft—someone who loves the tactile side of design. If you get excited about tile patterns, millwork reveals, and how light hits a plaster wall, you’ll fit right in.
You’ll work under the guidance of our Senior Interior Designer, collaborating closely with the architecture and construction teams to carry our design vision from concept to completion.
What You’ll Do
· Develop finish palettes and fixture selections that bring our designs to life.
· Create detailed interior drawings, elevations, and finish schedules.
· Collaborate with the Senior Interior Designer, architects, builders, and clients to ensure every detail is intentional and cohesive.
· Research and source materials, fixtures, and finishes that balance beauty, durability, and practicality.
· Coordinate with vendors and trades to see designs through construction and final install.
What We’re Looking For
· A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
· 3–7 years of experience in high-end residential design.
· Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite (SketchUp or Enscape is a plus).
· A love of materials, textures, and craftsmanship.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills—you enjoy working as part of a creative team.
· A proactive, detail-oriented approach and a deep appreciation for design that feels timeless and real.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
· A collaborative environment that values design integrity and attention to craft.
· Mentorship from a Senior Interior Designer and opportunities to grow your skills.
· The chance to shape projects from concept through construction.
· A beautiful workspace and a team that loves what they do.
· Competitive compensation, benefits, and paid time off.
If this sounds like the kind of work that inspires you, we’d love to see your portfolio. Send your resume, portfolio, and a short note about what draws you to this role to gabe@jdbatx.com
