Position Overview: As we continue to grow in the greater Oklahoma City metro area, we are seeking a talented Designer to join our team and lead residential design projects from initial concept through construction completion. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative design + build environment where your creative vision directly influences the built outcome.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Project Leadership
- Develop comprehensive design concepts and space planning solutions for residential remodeling projects
- Create construction documents (CDs) and detailed 2D floor plans, elevations, and detail drawings using design software
- Produce 3D models using SketchUp for client presentations and construction visualization
- Prepare material selections, finish schedules, and design presentations that align with client vision and project budget
Client Interaction & Project Management
- Lead client meetings throughout the design process from initial consultation through final selections
- Conduct selections meetings with clients to guide decision-making and ensure cohesive design outcomes
- Present design proposals with confidence and clarity, articulating design intent and value
- Purchase and coordinate client selections and material deliveries to maintain project timelines
Construction Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with construction team and project managers to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the build process
- Conduct site visits to verify field conditions, address design questions, and problem-solve on-site challenges
- Review construction progress and provide clarification on design details as needed
- Ensure quality control and design execution standards are met throughout construction
Staging & Marketing Support
- Develop staging vision for completed projects in collaboration with team members
- Oversee staging setup and coordination for professional photography
- Support marketing efforts by contributing to portfolio development and project documentation
- Maintain organized project files, material libraries, and design resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- 2-5 years of professional experience in residential design, preferably in a remodeling or design + build environment
- Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and rendering programs
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Comprehensive understanding of residential construction methods, building codes, and industry standards
- Excellent client communication and presentation skills
- Strong project management abilities with attention to detail and timeline management
- Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of current design trends, materials, and product offerings
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits and vendor meetings
