Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Interior Designer to join our growing team. The right candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident in both design development and client communication. This role includes concept creation, space planning, material sourcing, furniture selections, CAD/Revit documentation, onsite project management, and assisting with full-service installations. We are looking for someone who brings fresh ideas, takes initiative, and represents the studio with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in executing full-service design projects from initial concept through installation
• Create design concepts, mood boards, color palettes, furniture plans, elevations, and presentations
• Source furniture, materials, finishes, lighting, accessories, and artwork
• Prepare construction documents, cabinetry drawings, and specification sheets in Revit
• Draft detailed presentations and client selections
• Manage communication with vendors, trades, workrooms, and contractors
• Attend and participate in client meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs
• Assist in project management tasks, including tracking, scheduling, and quality control
• Support studio merchandising, styling, events, and marketing content when needed
• Uphold JKDS brand standards in all visuals, communication, and client interactions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 2–5 years of professional interior design experience
• Proficiency in Revit (strongly preferred), AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar drafting/modeling programs
• Ability to produce design drawings, floor plans, elevations, and detailed documentation
• Strong understanding of materials, furnishings, vendors, and construction terminology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs for styling and installation tasks

Preferred Skills (Bonus)

• Experience with design project management software
• Knowledge of high-end trade furniture lines and vendors
• Revit proficiency for custom detailed drawings
• Experience with 3D renderings or visualization software
• Styling experience for photoshoots, installs, and retail displays

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday–Friday
• Occasional weekend events, installations, or travel (as needed)
