Interior Designer

About the Role

We are a residential design firm specializing in custom homes. We are a part of the exciting new master planned community Kelly Ranch, in Aledo, TX. We’re hiring a full-time Interior Designer to manage interior and exterior finish selections and support projects from early design through completion.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong organization, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. The right person enjoys structured decision-making, working through details, and collaborating closely with a small team.

Primary Responsibilities

Design & Selections

• Manage end-to-end material and finish selections for custom homes, including exterior and interior components from foundation-related materials through roofing systems
• Coordinate selections for roofing, exterior cladding, windows, doors, masonry, paint systems, and architectural elements, along with all interior finishes
• Create fully documented, cohesive selection packages covering hard finishes, fixtures, hardware, lighting, and specialty materials
• Assist with furniture and window treatments when included in the project scope
• Confirm selections meet budget parameters, construction requirements, lead times, and project schedules

Client & Team Coordination

• Independently curate complete material and finish packages for each project based on client goals, budgets, and architectural direction
• Present selections for client review and approval, incorporating feedback as needed
• Coordinate with builders, vendors, and internal team members to confirm specifications, pricing, and availability
• Respond to questions and follow up on outstanding items to keep projects moving forward

Documentation & Organization

• Create and maintain selection schedules, spec sheets, and pricing documentation
• Track approvals, changes, and revisions throughout the project
• Maintain organized digital project files

Project Support

• Assist with installs, site visits, and final walkthroughs as needed
• Help resolve issues related to availability, substitutions, or lead times

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in residential interior design (custom homes preferred)
• Strong understanding of construction materials and finish applications
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication
• Comfortable managing multiple active projects at once
• Proficiency with common design and documentation tools

Work Structure

• Full-time, in-office position
• Standard business hours with occasional flexibility based on project needs
• Works closely with a small design and leadership team

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary is $60,000-$75,000 based on experience
• Benefits and paid time off discussed during interview process
