Premier is seeking a creative and motivated Interior Designer to join our hospitality design team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of hospitality and multifamily projects across multiple brands, contributing to all phases of the design process from concept development through construction and installation.
This position will collaborate with experienced designers and project leaders to create thoughtful, well-executed spaces while continuing to grow your design and technical expertise. Designers in this role will also have the opportunity to actively contribute to project concepts, material palettes, and spatial experiences while working closely with senior designers.
As an Interior Designer, you will contribute to interior design projects of varying types and complexity, participating in all phases of design from concept development through construction and installation. You will collaborate with and receive mentorship from senior members of the department.
The individual in this position will have the opportunity to work on various types of projects across multiple hospitality brands, engaging in all phases of design for projects ranging from Select Service to Luxury and Lifestyle hotels in addition to multifamily developments.
Role Responsibilities:
- Take on increased responsibility for project tasks compared to a Junior Designer while continuing to receive guidance and mentorship from senior staff.
- Demonstrate an interest in the hospitality industry and maintain awareness of evolving design trends, brand standards, and guest expectations.
- Apply an understanding of hospitality design principles to projects across varying types and levels of complexity.
- Collaborate effectively with internal team members, including designers, project managers, purchasing teams, and architects, as well as external consultants.
- Analyze project scope, schedules, and budgets, and—with guidance from senior staff—develop design solutions that align with project requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants (MEP, lighting, kitchen, etc.), project managers, hotel engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design documentation is complete and well-coordinated.
- Visualize and develop interior environments that integrate furniture, finishes, spatial planning, and architectural detailing.
- Conduct field verification and document existing conditions with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Perform quantity take-offs and assist in developing FF&E and project budgets.
- Prepare space plans using hand sketching and/or CAD software.
- Research, evaluate, and select furniture, fabrics, finishes, and architectural materials while maintaining familiarity with local and national vendors.
- Consider durability, performance standards, brand requirements, and life-cycle considerations when selecting materials and furnishings.
- Prepare design presentations for ownership groups and hotel brand representatives using sketches, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and other visualization tools.
- Coordinate with brand design representatives and track brand design approvals throughout the project.
- Develop FF&E specifications using SPEXX or similar specification platforms.
- Prepare construction documentation in collaboration with architects and job captains, including plans, elevations, millwork drawings, material selections, and detailed specifications.
- Develop a working understanding of interior construction methods, building systems, accessibility requirements, and applicable building codes.
- Participate in construction administration activities including reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and responding to RFIs.
- Attend project meetings, pre-bid meetings, site visits, and FF&E installations as required.
- Participate in weekly project calls and coordination meetings when acting as the lead or most senior designer on a project.
- Communicate regularly with senior designers, project managers, purchasing teams, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain organized documentation, track revisions, and ensure project information is clearly documented.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Contribute to office initiatives, design discussions, and professional development activities.
- Apply knowledge of life safety and ADA requirements in design documentation and planning.
- Manage smaller projects or defined portions of larger projects with increasing independence.
- Prepare and present design concepts to clients and stakeholders with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrate initiative, anticipate project needs, and proactively support project progress.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional interior design experience, preferably with hospitality or multifamily projects.
- NCIDQ certification strongly preferred.
- Demonstrates accountability, personal responsibility, and a collaborative approach to teamwork and communication.
- Strong professional presence with the ability to communicate design ideas effectively both verbally and graphically to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience preparing design presentations and visual materials using tools such as PowerPoint, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Experience working with hospitality brand standards and approval processes is a plus.
- Ability to review and analyze project budgets and work within established financial parameters.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
Physical Requirements (In-Office Role)
- Ability to work in a standard office environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day)
- Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
- Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
- Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).
- Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
- Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset.
