Responsibilities and Duties:

Interplan seeks junior and mid-level Interior Designers or Architects that can confidently communicate with the Client in order to assess the Client’s needs and execute a thoughtful and responsive design. Duties include participating in all phases of design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. Candidate will be responsible for developing design concepts for one or more projects under the direct supervision of the project manager, in a manner consistent with firm standards for project delivery. The ideal candidate will be a flexible, team-oriented individual with previous design experience in corporate and medical office building projects. This would be a full-time position and candidate must be local and able to provide transportation to job sites.


Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the project manager to execute design tasks
  • Serves as project liaison, communicating with clients, consultants and other contacts
  • Leads design development and construction documentation preparation
  • Supports design team with building analysis, design concepts, drafting and visualization
  • Produces drawings and renderings
  • Conducts research of materials and equipment
  • Participates in client meetings and presentations as needed


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Two to eight years of professional experience in Interior Design or Architecture (excluding schooling)
  • Bachelors' Degree in Interior Design or Architecture; NCIDQ preferred
  • Proficient with REVIT and Microsoft Word software family, Bluebeam a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents and procedures, construction detailing, color and material selection, lighting design and vendor/appliance coordination
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills in the English language and excellent client relationship skills
  • Able to survey/measure spaces, buildings and create accurate background drawings
  • Knowledge of building codes and experience in multiple jurisdictions
  • Able to manage multiple and changing priorities
