ABOUT AMI DESIGN

Founded in 1988, AMi Design is a boutique, full-service luxury interior design studio located in the heart of Huntington Village on Long Island. With over 35 years of experience, we create timeless, bespoke residential and commercial interiors for discerning private clients and high-end developers across Long Island and New York City. We are known for our expertise in custom millwork, architectural detailing, and a deeply personalized design process built on open communication and lasting client relationships.

THE ROLE

We are a close-knit, collaborative team and we’re growing. This is a meaningful role for an emerging designer who wants to be fully immersed in the design process — from initial concept through final installation — working alongside an experienced principal on high-end residential and commercial projects across the region.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Assist in developing and producing AutoCAD drawings, space plans, and construction details
• Support FF&E selections, specifications, pricing, and procurement
• Prepare and present client-facing presentations and mood boards
• Build and maintain project budgets, proposals, and FF&E reports in Excel
• Attend client meetings and site visits to coordinate with contractors, vendors, and cabinetry shops
• Conduct material research and maintain vendor and product libraries
• Support day-to-day project coordination and communication

WHAT YOU BRING

• AutoCAD proficiency — required; technical drawing is a core part of what we do
• Prior internship or employment in an interior design or architecture firm
• Confident in Microsoft Excel for budgeting and PowerPoint for client presentations
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a closely related field
• Strong eye for proportion, material, and finish — and a genuine passion for design
• Professional and warm demeanor; comfortable interacting directly with high-net-worth clients

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
