Melissa Fischer Interiors is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our growing San Diego studio. MFI is known for creating refined, highly personalized interiors that blend coastal California ease with a timeless, elevated aesthetic. This role is ideal for a designer who is both creative and technically proficient, with a strong understanding of the full design process.

Position Overview

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Work Setup: Primarily in-office and in the field
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with flexibility for project needs and installations)
• Compensation: $65,000 – $85,000 annually, based on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design Collaboration: Work with the lead designer on residential projects from the initial concept through final installation.
• Development: Create space plans, design concepts, and material selections.
• Documentation: Produce technical drawings, presentations, and detailed specifications.
• Sourcing: Select furniture, finishes, lighting, and accessories that align with the project vision.
• Project Management: Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants while managing project timelines, budgets, and procurement.
• Execution: Oversee on-site installations to ensure execution aligns perfectly with the design intent.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in residential interior design.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction documents and detailing.
• Professionalism: Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Artistic Vision: A refined design sensibility and a strong attention to detail.
