Looking for Interior Designer - Commercial Interiors

Fusion Architects is a leading and fast-growing architecture firm, and we are looking for a qualified, and passionate Interior Designer to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. Fusion is looking for an individual who has experience in commercial design. We need someone that knows how to use Revit, AutoCad, Photoshop, Sketch Up, and who is confident to present final on design and tasks to present final, or almost final, versions for review and approval. Brief Description of the Position

As an Interior Designer, you will prepare presentation documents and schematic drawings, assist the design team with construction detailing, and collaborate closely with team leaders and principals. You will work as part of an assigned team, you will work closely with team members within your team and other teams in the firm, and you will report to your team leader and team principal. You will be offered hands-on learning experience with ongoing feedback and a formal evaluation at the end of the internship, providing a pathway for continued growth within the firm. The four key areas of your responsibilities are these below, but not limited to these:

  • Preparing presentation documents and schematic drawings
  • Assisting the design team with construction detailing
  • Communicating updates, problems, and challenges effectively
  • Engaging in team discussions and activities, fostering a collaborative work environment

The Requirements of a Great Candidate

A strong candidate for this position will have these proficiencies, experiences and skills:

  • Minimum two (2) years out of college with strong experience in commercial design and has basic understanding of commercial construction details.
  • Able to use Revit, AutoCad, Photoshop, Sketch Up
  • Has a good and basic understanding of our local governing codes, ADA, and NFPA.
  • Proficient to work through completion of tasks and designs and confident to present final, or almost final, version; self-motivating for task completion without asking for so much review.
  • Professional skills we are looking for include goal-driven ambition, results-orientation, outgoing person with a positive outlook, good problem-solver, coachability, and a detail-focused commitment to high-quality work, as well as strong communication skills both written and verbal.
