Job Description
BKV Group seeks an Interior Designer I with 1 – 4 years’ related experience to join our team in Dallas. Previous experience working on hospitality, multi-family housing or corporate work is preferred. We are looking for an excellent creative thinker who has the ability to develop innovative designs based on client conversations. Essential responsibilities include the following, and others may be assigned:
Oversee the management of the product library by either self-direction or an intern.
Scope/Schedule/Budget: Review project budget with Project Lead or Partner at start of project. Work with Project Lead to align tasks to be completed with available budget. Communicate scope and budget concerns with Project Lead and review budget status throughout the project.
Vision: Work with Project Lead to develop Visioning package for client to establish aesthetic direction and Interior Design Concepts for the project. Communicate vision through use of imagery, renderings, and concept designs.
Programming: Meet with client/project lead to determine program requirements. Work with client/Project Lead to understand function, equipment, FF&E, and any other factors that will affect the planning of the project interiors.
Space Planning: Work with Project Lead to determine scope of plan development. Use program knowledge to develop functional, innovative environments that will enhance the experience for the occupant.
Finish and Materials: Work with Project Lead to develop appropriate finish and material selections and implement an overall design palette that support the aesthetic goals, budget, and functionality of the project.
Furniture/Artwork/FF&E: Specify appropriate furniture, artwork, and accessories. Assist owner in procurement of furniture as required.
Coordination: Responsible for communicating design intent of project interiors with other disciplines under the supervision of the Project Lead.
Construction Documents: Develop construction documents for bidding under the supervision of the Project Lead. Coordinate with other disciplines for quality assurance, technical accuracy, and completeness. Coordinate with Project Lead to finalize scope of Interiors Construction documents.
Presentation Materials: Develop 3D renderings, rendered elevations and floor plans to communicate design to owner. Review presentation materials with Project Lead prior to submitting to owner.
Review discipline deliverables checklist with Project Lead for completion at each delivered phase of a project.
Maintain a free flow of communication with the Project Lead and other staff members relative to the activities on assigned projects.
Receives project direction from the Project Lead and Interior Design Partner.
Qualifications
A BS/BA in Interior Design from a 4-year program or 2-year program is preferred.
Ability to work within a collaborative environment, have excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work on several projects simultaneously and exhibit strong graphic skills.
Computer skills required include Revit, SketchUp or other 3D model skills.
Compensation Range: $60,000 – $65,000 annually or commensurate with experience.
