Interior Designer Intern Fremont & Costa Mesa

Overview
We are seeking motivated and adaptable Interior Design Interns who are currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design (or have recently graduated with one). This internship offers hands-on experience in residential renovations, working directly with clients and our design/construction team.

This is an in-office and site-visit role, so interns must hold a valid California driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

As an intern, you will assist our Interior Designers and Estimators with a variety of tasks—from documenting scope of work and developing space plans to creating 2D elevations and preparing material lists using our pre-selected standards. You’ll gain exposure to our program processes, collaborate in a fast-paced environment, and build the skills needed for a professional design career.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand company goals and program standards.
  • Assist in property walkthroughs to document scope of work and take photographs.
  • Support estimators with space planning updates.
  • Prepare and edit quick 2D design elevations (focused on kitchens and bathrooms) from pre-selected schemes.
  • Organize and update detailed material lists using Microsoft Excel/Spreadsheets.
  • Collaborate and maintain clear communication with team members.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Interior Design (or related) degree program, or a recent graduate.
  • Basic proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Microsoft Office,

or similar.

  • Strong interest in residential design, space planning, and material/finish selections.
  • Comfortable with professional communication and email correspondence.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, multi-tasking, communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt quickly, and work collaboratively.
  • Positive, flexible, and professional attitude.
  • Valid California driver’s license and access to a car (required).
