We are a collaborative, passionate team seeking a Senior Interior Designer to bring leadership, creativity, and expertise to our growing firm.
Role Overview
As a Senior Designer at Studio Sophiste, you will lead the design process on high-end residential projects. You will work closely with our design team to deliver interiors that embody our firm’s signature style. This role requires both strong design talent and organizational rigor, as you will oversee projects from concept through installation.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle design projects, from concept through final installation.
  • Develop and present design concepts, schemes, and client presentations.
  • Source and specify finishes, furniture, lighting, textiles, and accessories.
  • Produce and oversee CAD drawings, elevations, renderings, and specifications.
  • Manage client relationships with confidence and professionalism.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, and procurement.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.
  • Collaborate with architects, builders, and trades to ensure flawless execution.
  • Conduct site visits and provide direction to vendors and contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in high-end residential interior design.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Leadership experience and ability to mentor junior designers.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Washington, DC before starting work.

Pay: $73,825.09 - $88,907.64 per year
