Under supervision of the Planning, Design and Construction Division Manager, coordinates with Facilities Management Department project managers, design professionals and various County departments on procurement of new furniture and scheduling of move services in an efficient and timely manner in support of new constructions, renovations and departmental relocations.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This is in an Internship of architectural-related job classifications within the Engineering and Architectural job family. This classification is distinguished by the scope of project work, educational requirements and supervisory responsibilities for a team of County movers. This classification may require a flexible work schedule in order to meet the needs of the department.
Education and Experience:
Currently enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited university program for Interior Design or Architecture at least Junior year
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Valid Texas Driver’s License.
Preferred:
Purchasing experience.
Experienced in using REVIT or AutoCAD software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:

Principles and practices of furniture procurement for commercial properties.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift carry 25-50 pounds occasionally, visual acuity, mental effort, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer, and viewing screens for long periods. Subject to standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, and driving and repetitive motion to perform the essential functions. Occasionally may be subject to contact with noise, vibration, fumes, foul odor, dirt, dust, gases and poor ventilation. Requires the use of protective devices such as masks, hardhats, goggles, hearing protection devices and gloves. May require climbing and traveling over uneven, muddy, rocky, and high grass terrain in all types of weather.
