Interior Designer - Kitchen & Bath Specialist

We’re looking for an experienced Interior Designer specializing in Kitchen and Bath Design to join our team. Key Responsibilities

Client Design & Consultation

• Meet with clients to understand project goals, functional needs, aesthetic preferences, and budget parameters.
• Develop creative and practical kitchen and bathroom designs tailored to the client’s lifestyle.
• Present design concepts including layouts, materials, fixtures, cabinetry, tile, lighting, hardware, and finishes.
• Guide clients through the selection process and document all design choices.

Design Development

• Prepare kitchen and bathroom layouts including cabinet plans, appliance placement, and plumbing fixture locations.
• Assist in preparing drawings, sketches, or design renderings when required.
• Ensure all design elements meet building codes, safety standards, and functional design principles.
• Coordinate with architects, drafters, and engineers when necessary.

Material & Product Selection

• Assist clients with selecting materials including cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and hardware.
• Maintain knowledge of current design trends, materials, and product availability.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, samples, and specifications.

Project Coordination

• Communicate design details and scope of work clearly to estimators and construction teams.
• Ensure scopes of work accurately reflect design selections.
• Coordinate material ordering and delivery schedules with vendors and project managers.
• Monitor project progress to ensure design intent is executed correctly.

Documentation & Systems

• Maintain organized project files including selections, drawings, product specifications, and client approvals.
• Enter project details, selections, and documentation into the company’s project management system.
• Track design changes and update documentation as needed.

Sales & Business Development

• Assist with project proposals and design presentations to secure client contracts.
• Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners.
• Support company marketing efforts through project photography, design portfolios, or social media content.

Qualifications

• Experience in interior design, kitchen & bath design, or residential remodeling.
• Knowledge of cabinet layouts, plumbing fixtures, tile design, and space planning.
• Strong understanding of construction processes related to kitchen and bathroom renovations.
• Excellent client communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in design software, CAD, or layout tools preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

• NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association) training or certification.
• Experience working in a design-build or remodeling company environment.
• Knowledge of cabinetry systems, appliance specifications, and plumbing layouts.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and field crews.
• Proficiency in reading schematics for additions and whole house renovations and new construction.

Work Environment

This position involves a combination of office work, client consultations, showroom visits, and job site visits to ensure the design is executed properly.

• Proven experience as an interior designer with a focus on kitchen and bath design.
• Proficiency in 2020 Design software is a must.
• Strong understanding of space planning, color theory, and material applications.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with clients and team members.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and technical documents.
• Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and ergonomics for kitchen and bath design.
• A creative mindset paired with strong organizational skills.

Skills

• Proficiency in design software including 2020.
• Strong understanding of lighting design principles, plumbing and mechanical principals and their application in interior spaces.
• Excellent budgeting skills to manage project costs effectively.
• Strong sales skills to present ideas persuasively and negotiate with vendors or clients when necessary.
• Ability to think creatively while adhering to functional requirements of spaces.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
• Proficiency in reading schematics.
• Attention to detail in both design execution and project management tasks.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
