Position Overview
The Kitchen Designer is responsible for creating functional, stylish, and customized kitchen layouts based on client requirements. This role involves space planning, material and product selection, detailed drawing preparation, and coordination with clients, suppliers, and installation teams. The designer ensures that every kitchen project aligns with company standards, client expectations, and practical usability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Planning
- Meet with clients to understand their preferences, lifestyle needs, and budget.
- Develop creative and ergonomic kitchen layout concepts.
- Prepare 2D drawings, 3D renders, and detailed design presentations.
- Select appropriate materials, finishes, appliances, hardware, and accessories.
- Ensure designs comply with safety, functional, and spatial requirements.
2. Client Coordination
- Present design proposals and make necessary revisions based on feedback.
- Provide expert advice on materials, storage solutions, and layout optimization.
- Assist clients in choosing finishes and accessories.
- Maintain professional communication throughout the project.
3. Technical Documentation
- Prepare accurate measurements and site surveys.
- Create technical drawings, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and work orders for production.
- Coordinate with production teams for detailed specifications.
4. Project Coordination
- Work closely with installation teams to ensure design accuracy on-site.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and resolve design-related issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers for timely delivery of materials and appliances.
5. Sales Support
- Assist sales team in explaining kitchen solutions to clients.
- Prepare cost estimates and quotations.
- Support showroom displays and visual merchandising for kitchen setups.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, 2020 Design, or similar.
- Strong understanding of modular kitchen systems and interior design principles.
- Knowledge of materials, hardware, and appliance specifications.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong creativity with attention to detail.
- Problem-solving and on-site coordination ability.
- Time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
Educational Background
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in kitchen design or modular furniture design (preferred).
