(formerly Cattaneo Studios) is seeking a
part-time Interior Designer (Independent Consultant)
to support an active residential design practice. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented designer who excels at executing and coordinating projects, keeping work moving forward with consistency and care.
We are looking for someone who can take direction, work independently, and produce high-quality, reliable output across multiple phases of a project.
Our studio is located in Tuxedo, NY, within walking distance of the Tuxedo Train Station. This is a hybrid position with both remote work and a regular on-site presence.
Key Responsibilities

Support projects from concept through construction with a focus on execution and follow-through.

Prepare presentation drawings, finish schedules, and material boards.

Produce and manage AutoCAD drawings and construction documentation.

Assist with specifications, purchasing, and tracking using Studio Designer.

Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to keep projects on schedule.

Organize project information, track deliverables, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Manage assigned tasks independently while maintaining alignment with project timelines.

Participate in project meetings as needed and support ongoing coordination.
Qualifications
-
Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

2–6+ years of professional experience in residential interior design or architecture.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal oversight.

Clear communication skills and a proactive, reliable work style.
Technical Requirements

Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).

Experience with Studio Designer (required).

Comfortable producing clear, well-organized drawing sets and documentation.
Position Details

Part-time, consultant (1099) role

Approximately 2 days remote + 1 day on-site per week

Typical hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexible depending on workload)
Compensation

$30–$50/hour, commensurate with experience and ability to work independently.
