Interior Designer - Site (FF&E)

POSITION FOR INTERIOR DESIGN SITE SUPERVISION

We are currently looking to bring on board a skilled Interior Designer with vision accompanied with knowledge on how designs are transitioned from paper to reality.

General

The interior designer is to verify the construction and installation of interior fit-out works that are within Opaal’s design scope and conform to Opaal’s design documents; review and approve colour and material samples and shop drawings, attend onsite coordination meetings with the installation contractor and prepare snag list of defective items.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

a. Review, comment on, and/or approve shop drawings, for both fixed interior items and FF&E as required and to ensure contractor follows the contractual design documentation.

b. Review, comment on, and/or approve contractor control samples, for both fixed interior items and FF&E as required and to ensure contractor follows the contractual design documentation.

c. Respond to Contractors RFIs and ensure all responses conform to the contractual design documentation.

d. Undertake spot inspections to assess compliance with the construction documentation and issue defects reports thereon.

e. Inspect notified site problems and develop solutions where required in keeping with the design.

f. Attend coordination meetings with Project Construction team to include Client, Project Managers and other Consultants.

g. Comment on and make recommendations on all aspects of design and any proposed substitution of materials.

h. Visit the site after all the FF&E has been installed for final refinement of location of FF&E.
