An Interior Project Manager oversees interior design and fit‑out projects from conception through completion. They act as the liaison between clients, designers, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, design, and execution phases of interior projects
- Develop project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines
- Prepare and manage budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts
- Monitor project progress; track schedule, resource allocation, and risk
- Coordinate and manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Interface with clients: regular meetings, status updates, handling change requests
- Oversee procurement of materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and design specifications
- Conduct site inspections, quality control, and punch‑list resolution
- Resolve issues and conflicts which may arise during the project
- Maintain project documentation: contracts, drawings, RFI, site diaries, change orders
- Ensure handover, post‑occupancy evaluation, and warranty follow‑ups
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- 10–12 years (or as per your requirement) of experience in interior fit‑out / design / construction
- Strong project management skills (scheduling, budgeting, resource planning)
- Good understanding of interior design principles, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), finishes, FF&E
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.)
- Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Asana, etc.)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Attention to detail, quality control mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of local building codes, safety norms, and regulations
