JMA is seeking a driven and passionate Intermediate Architect Designer 3 (ID3) who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment built on open communication. The ID3 will work under the direction of a Project Lead or Principal to assist in the development of project documents in accordance with JMA’s production guidelines. Primary responsibilities include assisting with schematic design, design development, drawing production, construction documentation, preliminary design work, renderings, 3D modeling and code compliance reviews. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and excellent attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to schematic design, drawing production, and construction documentation, including presentations and renderings.
  • Follow JMA production guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Assist with preliminary design, design development, code compliance reviews, and consultant coordination.
  • Maintain organized project files, including all correspondence.
  • Help manage client expectations and coordinate communication between the project team and consultants.

Qualifications:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 3 – 5 years of professional experience.
  • Experience with 3D modeling in Revit is required, experience with Rhino modeling is a plus.
  • Architectural rendering skills using Photoshop and Enscape required.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit required.
  • Strong commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong graphic presentation abilities.
  • Willingness and flexibility to adapt to a variety of project types and market sectors, with the ability to support multiple projects at various stages of development.
  • Strong organizational and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams).

Seattle Office: Our Seattle office is a beautifully renovated historic building in Pioneer Square. Note that our office has an unavoidable staircase - all applicants must be able to manage two flights of stairs. Compensation:

  • Full-time, non-remote, non-exempt position.
  • Pay range: $32.25 – $39.42 per hour (dependent on experience).
