Intermodal Dispatcher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Intermodal Dispatcher to coordinate and manage freight movements across multiple transportation modes, including rail, truck, and shipping. In this vital role, you will serve as the central communication hub, ensuring seamless logistics operations by dispatching carriers, monitoring shipments, and optimizing transportation workflows. Responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments across intermodal transportation modes using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Monitor real-time GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure on-time deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse teams, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Utilize analysis skills to troubleshoot delays, resolve issues promptly, and adjust dispatch plans accordingly.
• Maintain accurate data entry of shipment details, delivery statuses, and operational logs within systems like AS400 and transportation management platforms.
• Oversee shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation and coordination with 3PL providers for seamless logistics execution.
• Collaborate with fleet management teams to optimize vehicle utilization and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Qualifications
• Proven experience in transportation management or logistics dispatching within a supply chain environment.
• Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated analysis skills for troubleshooting logistical issues and optimizing freight movements.
• Proficiency in data entry using platforms like AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining high levels of organization.
