Job Description

The Buyer Intern is introduced to the full life cycle of buying and develops a global understanding of how buying operates within Rally House. Interns develop a strong foundation of buying as well as an opportunity to foster confidence and relationships with both management and other team members. Interns will develop competencies and contribute to two aspects of the business, buying and store operations. This internship reports to the buying department in a field based role in one of the selected Rally House locations.

Interns complete an assigned project at the end of their internship, identified with the buyer supervisor. The project may include reviewing a subclass or team in the reporting, reviewing sales of a subclass in a campus store and project reorders, new adds, or markdowns, or collaborate with marketing and store staff for a specific product or collection requiring email, signage, fixtures, etc.

Responsibilities

Buying
  • Style creation based on product selection by the Buyer
  • Item maintenance and updates
  • Purchase order maintenance
  • Create Silhouettes based on catalogs and vendor information
  • Sample organization and tracking
  • Web Images
  • Attend vendor meetings, provide product and graphic feedback
  • Entry view in to purchase order creation, shadow buyer to understand purchase order process
Store
  • Receiving and Inventory; Receive PO/Review POLs
  • Outbound and inbound transfers
  • End-to-end customer order process
  • Complete cycle counts
  • Customer Service; cash out customers
  • Store presentation; merchandise, floor placement
  • Help remerchandise a team biweekly
  • Reticketing/Price Adjustments
  • Jersey production if NIL location
  • Gameday flow (where applicable)


Skills and Knowledge

Excellent organization skills with the ability to plan and execute tasks efficiently, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Qualifications

Ability to work as a team member; Intermediate skills in Microsoft and Excel; Enthusiastic attitude; Takes initiative with minimal oversight; Possess collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple team settings.

Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and/or recent graduate required; Available to work standard hours M-F at corporate office location in Lenexa, KS; Retail experience preferred; Eligible to work in the U.S.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Required to stand and walk; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; differentiate colors. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items up to 25lbs, and to walk short distances.

$15.00 - $18.00
