Summer Intern – Communications & HR Recruitment Support (Hybrid)

Alternatives, Inc., a nonprofit organization providing supports and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is seeking a Summer Intern to support our Human Resources and Communications teams. Our organization is located in Raritan, NJ.

This hybrid internship offers hands-on experience in recruitment marketing, digital content creation, and nonprofit communications while gaining exposure to HR operations and organizational messaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating and updating recruitment marketing materials for digital and print use
  • Support recruitment campaigns and messaging to attract qualified candidates
  • Create and edit short-form video content for recruitment and promotional use
  • Help redesign flyers, rack cards, and informational materials to align with branding
  • Organize and manage digital media assets (photos, video, graphics)
  • Research new communication tools, software, and AI platforms that support marketing and recruitment
  • Attend team meetings and assist with communications and HR-related projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Marketing, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Journalism, Film/Video Production, or a related field
  • Experience with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with video editing tools and social media content creation
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress or website content management systems preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

Work Environment

  • Hybrid internship (combination of in-office and remote work)
  • Must be available during standard business hours
  • Includes organizational orientation and training
