INTERN - Designer intern (Local)

Salary Range: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Simantel is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified intern to work in-person with our creative team at our Peoria, Illinois office during Spring 2026. This design internship provides a paid opportunity for students to gain practical experience in a marketing agency, network with Simantel professionals in their field of interest, develop and refine skills and build confidence in their abilities. As Design Intern, my objective is:

• Complete project-based tasks as assigned
• Learn about the client’s business and Simantel’s service line offerings to identify opportunities to enhance existing/new projects
• Assist with building strategic deliverables including campaign assets, proposals, presentations, insights summaries and communication plans using the appropriate Simantel strategy tools
• Meet with team members, as required, to ensure timely, accurate completion of assigned projects
• Eagerly share and exchange thoughts and ideas with others in a positive and supportive manner
• Manage your schedule to meet deadlines

• Be pursuing a Design/Advertising major (or other relevant coursework)
• Associate degree or 2+years of relevant experience
• Passion for emerging technology and a hunger to innovate
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, team environment
• Dynamic presentation and communication skills
• Communicative, flexible and patient under tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Mac-based Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Schedule for the Spring Internship:

Start Date: Wednesday, January 14, 2026
End Date: Minimum of 9 weeks (ideally through April 30, 2026) with potential flexibility to extend longer

• Working schedule: up to 28 hours per week, in-person at our Peoria, IL office
• Typical days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 8 a.m.– 4 p.m.
• We are flexible to accommodate class schedules; Mondays/Fridays are optional
