Summary

The Business Intern position at AAON offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Interns will support various business functions by assisting with projects, conducting research, and contributing to process improvements. This role is designed to provide exposure to real-world business operations while developing professional skills and industry knowledge. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals and participate in team-based initiatives that align with AAON’s strategic goals.

Primary Duties

Business Interns will be assigned to a specific department based on their academic background and career interests. They will assist with day-to-day operations, data analysis, reporting, and project coordination. Interns are expected to be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support departmental goals.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct market or operational research and present findings to team members.
  • Support documentation, workflow updates, and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions with insights and questions.
  • Shadow professionals to gain exposure to various business functions.
  • Prepare presentations or reports summarizing internship experiences and learnings.
  • Collaborate with other interns and departments on company-wide initiatives.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Preferred: Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of business principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a professional setting.

Essential Mental and Physical Functions:

This role requires curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured environment. Interns must be able to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with team members.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Use of computer and office equipment for most tasks.
  • Occasional movement between office and production areas.
  • Ability to handle moderate levels of stress in a learning environment.

Work Environment:

The Business Intern will primarily work in an office setting, with occasional exposure to manufacturing areas depending on the department. The environment is collaborative, professional, and focused on learning and development. Interns may be required to attend meetings, presentations, and training sessions throughout the internship period.
