From operational leadership and crew planning to safety and service procedures, our Inflight Services team provides the innovative approaches, tools, training and guidance needed for our flight attendants to deliver the best possible customer experience, and aid in our mission to become the best airline in the history of aviation.

This internship is designed solely to provide you with skill development and valuable work experience. This role will likely not convert to a full-time position at United at the conclusion of the internship.

Responsibilities:

As a United Inflight Safety Policy & Procedures Intern, you will be part of a team that protects our customers and crews while supporting one of the most complex airline operations in the world. You will be immersed in projects that matter, gaining hands-on experience while learning how safety drives everything we do. We are looking for your curiosity, energy, and fresh perspective. In return, you will receive on-the-job training, mentorship, and the chance to present your work to leaders across the division

Specific projects may include:

  • Analyze safety processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and compliance
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support safety strategies and initiatives
  • Assist with FAA-driven aircraft certification activities, depending on project timelines
  • Research best practices and prepare recommendations to strengthen inflight safety programs and policies
  • Develop reference guides and resources based on inflight safety communications
  • Support ongoing projects that enhance crew training, emergency procedures, and operational readiness
  • Collaborate with our Safety Management System (SMS) team to ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration skills with proven ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Successful completion of interview process


    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Adobe tools (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Acrobat)
  • Aviation background or strong interest in the aviation industry
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA, DOT, OSHA, or equivalent

The starting rate for this role is $20.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
