SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:
The Hanover’s Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job.
Through the 10-week summer program (June – mid August), You will:
- Take on meaningful projects and work alongside some of the very best talent in the industry
- Be supported and mentored by a community of exceptional talent (leaders, managers, subject matter experts and recent graduates)
- Participate in a cross-functional team building project focused on corporate philanthropy
- Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers
- Join in engagement and social activities with other interns

This internship is designed for individuals passionate about employee learning and development/training within the insurance industry. As a Learning and Development Intern, you will work closely with the Risk Solutions team to enhance internal training programs, support professional growth initiatives, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:- Training Program Support: Assist in the design, delivery, and evaluation of internal training programs for Risk Solutions staff, including onboarding, technical skills, and professional development.
- Content Development: Create engaging draft learning materials such as presentations, e-learning modules, job aids, and guides tailored to internal audiences.
- Learning Management System (LMS): Help manage and update content in the LMS, track employee progress, and generate reports on training effectiveness.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct surveys and interviews to identify skill gaps and recommend targeted learning solutions.
- Performance Metrics: Assist in analyzing training data to assess impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaboration: Work with Risk Solutions department leads, and subject matter experts to ensure training aligns with organizational goals and compliance standards.
- Formal Presentations: Complete Capstone project and presentation to senior management on a relevant Risk Solutions topic.
- Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership at the close of the internship program highlighting the work you accomplished throughout the internship.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or advanced degree program
- Degrees preferred: Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Insurance or related fields
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
- Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program
- Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with LMS platforms is a plus
- Interest in adult learning principles and instructional design
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
