Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking an Engineering Intern in our Torrance, California.
We are seeking highly motivated and energetic students for the 2026 summer intern program at Howmet Fastening Systems. The program consists of 10-12 weeks of structured hands-on training involving plant tours, seminars, networking events, and projects selected to add direct value to the business. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their projects to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. An internship at Howmet Fastenings Systems will provide an invaluable experience that you can utilize in any roles, and it’s Howmet Aerospace’s goal to evaluate our interns for potential entry-level openings.
This position will report directly to the site’s Engineering Manager with daily coaching from the team’s manufacturing engineers and technicians. The Howmet Aerospace Summer Internship Program will include engaging in impactful projects to assist the company and the student’s professional development.
Analyze work orders and inspection processes to identify recurring defects and root causes contributing to Material Review Board (MRB) issues.
Support the creation of multi-panel inspection sheets, review current inspection methods, and recommend improvements to reduce MRB inflow.
