Intern – Water Management

Objectives:

The Intern – Water Management manages and coordinates ancillary orders, providing accurate and timely support to internal and external stakeholders. The role oversees the preparation and management of CAD drawings required by the Sales and Product Management teams, while working closely with the Ancillary Design Engineer and cross‑functional teams in Supply Chain, Production, and Service to ensure smooth execution and alignment.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales Support


  • Assist the Senior Engineer – Applications & Design in preparing proposals and related technical documents.


Design & Drafting


  • Collaborate with the Engineer – Applications & Design on CAD drawings and design requirements.
  • Prepare 3D models using CREO/CAD in support of Water Delivery solutions.


Ancillary Order Management


  • Work closely with the Application Engineer – Design to prepare and manage drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for Water Solutions (Pumping, Power, Valves, and Accessories).
  • Coordinate and communicate with Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, and Project Management teams to ensure smooth processing of Water Delivery orders.


Coordination & Cross‑Functional Support


  • Coordinate Ancillary Equipment orders with Order Management and Purchasing by providing necessary drawings and technical support to vendors.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of Ancillary Equipment to ensure adequate inventory availability for VME.
  • Liaise with internal and external equipment suppliers regarding ongoing orders, delivery progress, and after‑sales support.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Planning Team to support material sourcing and finished goods planning.
  • Liaise with Production and Quality teams to maintain and follow QAP requirements for ancillary equipment.
  • Coordinate with the Service and Supply Chain teams to facilitate after‑sales support and ensure timely issue resolution.


The employee is responsible for adhering to all relevant standards and guidelines under: (ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management System, ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational Health and Safety Management System) This includes following established policies, procedures, and controls to support Valmont’s commitment to quality, environmental sustainability, and workplace safety.


Independence

The role reports directly to the Senior Applications Engineer – Water Delivery and operates with broad objectives, exercising independent judgment in determining methods, tasks, and priorities in alignment with the division’s mission and performance standards.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design, or related field.
  • Experience in CAD design (CREO/CAD preferred).
  • Knowledge of water delivery systems, pumping solutions, or industrial equipment (preferred).
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in engineering support, order management, or technical coordination.


Specific knowledge, skill, ability, and requirements : Working knowledge of AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design & Drafting). Should have strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and respond effectively to both internal and external customers. Valid driver’s license for mobility and an added advantage. One year of previous experience working with customers to define product needs. Must be a flexible team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
