Assist in developing the annual internal audit plan.

Lead risk-based internal audits in accordance with professional standards and bank policies.

Define audit objectives, scope, and methodology.

Coordinate audit fieldwork and assign tasks to audit team members.

Review audit working papers for completeness and accuracy.
-
Identify control weaknesses and make appropriate recommendations.
-
Prepare clear and concise audit reports for review by the Head of Audit.

Present audit findings to department heads and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.

Supervise and mentor auditors/Senior Auditors during audit assignments.
-
Provide performance feedback and support team members’ professional development.
-
Promote a culture of integrity and continuous improvement within the audit function.

Ensure audits are aligned with CBE regulations, Basel standards, and bank policies.

Monitor emerging risks and contribute to the bank’s risk assessment activities.

Liaise with external auditors and regulators as needed.
-
Maintain audit documentation in compliance with internal standards.
-
Support the Head of Audit in preparing reports for the Audit Committee or Senior Management.

Participate in special investigations or advisory projects as assigned.

Maintain an up to date knowledge and understanding of bank’s control processes, CBE regulatory requirements, IIA standards & Code of ethics, FMIA Charter/Manuals; drive necessary changes in Audit plan/working programs as directed by Head of Audit.

Reviewing the bank’s related functions end to end and identify areas of correction / improvement, as and when required.

Examine and comment on the process for the early recognition of problems/issues (if any) and their remedial management to minimise the loss.

Preparation / Review of Audit MIS/ Dashboard including audit committee presentation slides relating to audit conducted.

Maintain an up to date knowledge and understanding of key product, processes and regulatory developments; drive necessary changes in Audit plan/working programs.

Contributing towards the enhancement of relationship between FMIA and its stakeholders.

Keeping abreast of the local and international economic trends, banking practices and regulatory prescriptions.
Qualifications & Experience

Only candidates with Internal Audit experience will be considered
-
Bachelor’s degree, or any relevant post-graduate qualification and/or relevant professional qualification and/ or certification desirable.
-
9+ years’ experience Internal Audit with at least 3 years in the same position or similar position.
