1. Plan the information technology audit process, determine the scope of work, preparing the necessary audit activities and risk assessments for the concerned departments.
2. Ensure consistent application of University By-Laws, policies, procedures, and statutory regulations. As well as handle the technological innovation process for IT services by creating a risk profile for current and future projects with a focus on the university’s experience with those technologies and where it stands in the market.
3. Examine the current technologies in the university and future planned technologies that will need to be adopted, and evaluates whether the technologies, systems and applications are controlled, reliable, efficient, secure and effective.
4. Help verify that the technological systems that are being used and/or developed are suited for the university and meet development standards.
5. Assist in implementing the IT quality assurance standards in the Compliance and Internal Audit Office and ensure the application of professional standards and best practices.
6. Review and audit all contracts related to the Information Technology Center, as well as submit recommendations when needed and report any matters of concern in order to take action.
7. Work on building professional and positive relationships with the concerned colleges/departments in order to help create an efficient and effective auditing process.
8. Remain abreast with latest local, regional, and global IT-related updates in order to help provide the University with updated trends and ideas, and help evaluate and update IT services.
9. Assist in reviewing IT policies and procedures, as well as contribute to the preparation of related auditing activities in order to help develop and improve them as well as create a more efficient and effective system.
10. Keep up-to-date with Information Technology developments and advancements in the market in order to improve the university’s presence, and implement any required administrative, technical or functional enhancements. As well as proactively seek out opportunities to build capability and identify where developing know-how can drive improved business outcomes.
