About the Role:
Job Summary
Develops and executes internal messaging for all health system hospitals, physician groups, medical staff, boards and other audiences. Works independently to hear communication needs ranging from simple to complex, then recommends an effective communication plan, creates needed messages and delivers to appropriate audiences. Develops internal email and print newsletters, intranet content, presentations, crisis communication and other processes to support business objectives. Acts as a communication consultant for dozens of departments and leaders, ensuring complex messages are communicated effectively within assigned deadlines.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree in a communication related field.
Minimum Experience: Three (3)+ years of professional experience in a communications position with relatable skills, preferably in healthcare. Knowledge of physician relations, human resources, information technology, managed care operations, non-profit finances, Atlanta healthcare industry dynamics, email marketing concepts, and Epic electronic medical record are all extremely beneficial.

Ability to understand complex issues and information, then interpret that messages that are easy to understand and appeal to varied audiences
Excellent writing and proofreading skills, including knowledge of AP style
Skilled at developing and executing effective messages across mediums including email, presentations (speeches and slides), intranet content, video, audio and more
Ability to take initiative, work independently, multi-task and prioritize with little or no supervision
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with leaders, physicians and staff at all levels in the organization
Ability to understand sensitive situations and navigate them appropriately
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategies for internal communications on behalf of dozens of accounts/departments, handling needs of multiple accounts/departments simultaneously within assigned deadlines.
Act as a communications consultant to assist departments and leaders across the organization, guiding simple to moderately complex projects to shape and influence strategy.
Review, edit and write content for all internal mediums including newsletters, intranet, memos, presentations, speeches and flyers - easily changing writing style and tone to suit the leader, channel and audience and to ensure complex messages are communicated effectively within assigned deadlines.
Support presentations to internal and external audiences, including speech writing and PowerPoint creation.
Works with internal graphic designers to ensure all internal communication adheres to brand standards.
Develop creative concepts to support key activities/initiatives including internal referrals, open enrollment, employee engagement efforts, operational change, patient education, town hall meetings, signage development and more.
Work to establish positive working relationships with physicians and practice leadership by establishing and meeting deadlines, scheduling, attending or leading necessary meetings.
Assists with emergency communication needs in the event of inclement weather, power outage or other major incidents - including after hours and on weekends
Develop and monitor metrics to measure success of internal communications messages, and adjust as needed to meet business objectives.
Monitor and navigate complex relationships within the health system and stakeholders, keeping PR Director and Manager abreast of issues which may require intervention.
