Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented INTERNAL MEDICINE CONCIERGE LIAISON to serve as a vital link between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative teams within our internal medicine practice. This role involves managing patient communication, coordinating care plans, and ensuring seamless documentation and record management. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and excellent customer service abilities to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients regarding appointment scheduling, follow-up care, and billing inquiries.
- Manage medical documentation review, including intake forms, care plans, and insurance information.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, and others to update patient records accurately.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other payers.
- Assist with medical coding tasks such as CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding to ensure accurate billing and documentation.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient information during all interactions.
- Support front desk operations including phone etiquette, multi-line phone systems, patient check-in/out procedures, and appointment scheduling.
- Review medical records for completeness and accuracy; facilitate documentation review processes.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans and ensure timely delivery of services.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic health records using platforms like Eaglesoft or Dentrix if applicable.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries professionally and efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office management or administrative support within a clinical setting; clinic or hospital experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth is essential.
- Experience with health information management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and record keeping.
- Exceptional communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy in all tasks. Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
