Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive primary care, manage acute and chronic conditions, and collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, and patients to deliver exceptional health outcomes. Your expertise will help improve patient experiences across diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and telehealth platforms. Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs, to determine health status and identify medical issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with complex medical conditions, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Administer medications and injections, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments, ensuring safe and effective delivery.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, sonography, spinal taps, and catheterizations to aid in accurate diagnosis.
  • Manage acute pain and chronic disease cases within internal medicine scope, including hospital medicine, ICU care, and emergency room scenarios.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records.
  • Provide patient education on health coaching, medication management, nutrition, and disease prevention strategies tailored to individual needs.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; proficiency in CPT coding and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation.
  • Strong background in internal medicine with additional expertise in geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, or family planning preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform procedures including suturing, venipuncture, catheter care, sterile processing techniques, and esthetic laser treatments.
  • Skilled in managing diverse patient populations across settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice & palliative medicine environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills for triage assessments, case management coordination, discharge planning, and wor or developmental challenges.
