Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine Physician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services, manage a diverse patient population, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality medical care. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, utilizing advanced medical technologies and evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. The physician will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, and ensuring continuity of care across outpatient and inpatient settings.

Duties

  • Perform detailed patient evaluations including physical examinations and medical history assessments
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions across a broad spectrum of adult health issues
  • Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic and other EMR platforms for documentation and patient management
  • Order, interpret, and utilize diagnostic tools including medical imaging (CT scans, radiology), laboratory tests, and specialized procedures like cardiac catheterization and vascular interventional radiography
  • Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating pharmacological therapies, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care strategies
  • Coordinate care with specialists in fields such as cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, neurology, psychiatry, oncology, and others as needed
  • Conduct patient education on disease management, medication adherence, immunizations, and health coaching
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives and adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
  • Engage in post-operative care, discharge planning, and follow-up to optimize recovery outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with hospital standards including Level I & II trauma center protocols and NCQA standards for quality assurance

Skills

  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic and EMR platforms
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pathology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques
  • Experience with medical imaging modalities including CT scans and diagnostic radiology procedures
  • Skilled in performing procedures such as suturing, IV infusion administration, airway management, gastroscopy (gastric lavage), spinal tap, wound care, ostomy care, and catheterization
  • Familiarity with subspecialties like cardiology (including interventional cardiology), nephrology, rheumatology, infectious disease care, sleep medicine, immunology, reproductive endocrinology, pediatric critical & intensive care, neurocritical care, trauma medicine, hospice & palliative medicine
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive clinical research or participate in clinical trials when applicable
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients
  • Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes
  • Experience with telehealth platforms is preferred but not required
