Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO):
(Outpatient or Traditional Practice)
Position Summary:
The Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive medical care to adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. This role emphasizes evidence-based care, continuity of care, and coordination with specialists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive primary and/or inpatient medical care to adult patients
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disorders, and gastrointestinal conditions
- Deliver preventive care including health maintenance exams, screenings, and immunizations
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and ancillary services
- Interpret and manage diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies
- Provide patient education regarding disease prevention, lifestyle modification, and treatment adherence
- Manage transitions of care including hospital admissions, discharges, and follow-up
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, population health, and patient safety initiatives
- Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers, residents, or medical students as applicable
- Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications:- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine
- Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
- DEA registration or eligibility
