International Market Development Specialist

Salary Range: $58-65K + bonus plan

Position Overview:
Fear Free is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented International Market Development Specialist to drive our global growth strategy by owning and expanding both our direct business and international affiliate program. The ideal candidate will be a blend of strategic thinker and hands-on operator, with a passion for building relationships and a deep understanding of international marketing.
This role is a unique opportunity to directly impact our company's revenue and global footprint by managing the full lifecycle of our international affiliates—from recruitment and onboarding to relationship management and performance optimization. As International Market Development Specialist, you will be the primary point of contact for our international partners, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to succeed.
Key Objectives:
Drive International Revenue
· Achieve and exceed revenue targets by growing and optimizing the performance of direct sales and the international affiliate channel.
Expand Global Reach
· Recruit and onboard high-quality international affiliates in key target markets to accelerate global business development.
Enhance Affiliate Performance
· Improve key metrics such as conversion rates, renewals, and average order value across the international affiliate network.
Strengthen Partner Relationships
· Serve as the primary point of contact for international affiliates, fostering strong, long-term partnerships through proactive communication and support.
Ensure Brand Consistency
· Adapt and provide marketing materials to international affiliates, ensuring brand voice and messaging are culturally relevant and legally compliant in each region.
Core Responsibilities
International Sales Development & Strategic Growth
· Collaborate with leadership to identify new affiliate opportunities and develop targeted growth strategies.
· Utilize strategic thinking to expand existing relationships, identify new contacts within partner organizations, and map relationship networks.
· Coordinate campaigns to improve registration, engagement, and retention within corporate group accounts.
· Actively engage leads through various channels (e.g., trade shows, inbound inquiries) and conduct virtual or in-person presentations showcasing Fear Free’s value.
Affiliate Management & Communication
· Serve as the main point of contact for all international affiliates, handling day-to-day inquiries, providing support, and communicating program updates.
· Conduct regular performance reviews with key affiliates to identify opportunities for growth and resolve any issues.
· Coordinate regular communication between affiliates and internal teams (e.g., marketing, member services, and legal) to ensure alignment.
Recruitment & Onboarding
· Identify and recruit new, high-quality international affiliates and corporate groups who align with the company’s brand and target audience.
· Onboard new partners, providing them with necessary training, marketing materials, and technical support.
Performance Optimization
· Monitor and analyze affiliate performance metrics (e.g., traffic, conversions, payouts) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
· Develop and execute strategies to optimize affiliate performance, including A/B testing, promotional campaigns, and incentive programs.
· Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership on a regular basis.
Marketing & Business Development
· Update and localize marketing materials, creatives, and promotional copy to be culturally appropriate and effective for international markets.
· Assist with overall business development by providing market intelligence and identifying new growth opportunities in international territories.
· Collaborate with the broader marketing team to align affiliate campaigns with global marketing initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Input and manage data accurately in Salesforce and other tools, ensuring detailed records of interactions, opportunities, and progress.
· Coordinate with internal departments such as Marketing, Customer Experience, and Practice Certification to deliver a seamless client experience.
· Oversee client-related projects, such as webinar hosting or events, ensuring timely and professional execution.
Business Intelligence:Prepare and present detailed reports, business cases, and presentations on market research and analysis, opportunities, and progress to inform strategy.
Other duties as assigned, aligned with supporting sales and client success initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, Economics, or a related field, or 5 years of experience in a similar field.
Experience: 5 years of experience in affiliate marketing, business development, or a similar role, with a focus on international markets.
Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills:The ability to build and maintain trust and rapport with partners from diverse backgrounds.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Cultural Awareness: Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and a foundational understanding of the nuances of doing business in different countries. Sensitivity and respect for different working styles and decision-making processes.
Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across different cultures.
Negotiation and Persuasion Skills: Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts, pricing, payment terms, affiliate commission structures, and sales agreements that are mutually beneficial.
Adaptability and Resilience:The ability to work effectively across different time zones, adapt to unpredictable schedules, and handle travel as required, and flexibility in adapting sales strategies to local market conditions and business environments.
Technical Proficiency:Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Efficiency: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
High Speed Internet:Must have a stable, high-speed internet connection capable of supporting video conferencing and cloud-based tools.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
· Fluency in a second language (e.g, Spanish, French, Mandarin).
· Experience in animal health and/or nutrition.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be Able To:
· Remain in a stationary position for an extended period while operating a computer.
· Position themselves to install tech equipment, including under desks.
· Move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
· Participate in virtual and/or in-person meetings.
· Travel by car and /or airplane
Travel:
· Up to 25%, including trade shows, events, or in-person client meetings, both domestic and internationally.
