Internship, Analyst, Digital Communication (Summer 2026)

This position is expected to start around May 2026 and continue through the Summer term (ending approximately August 2026) or continuing into Fall 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.


Tesla is seeking a highly analytical, self-driven intern to support campaign optimization, segmentation strategy and performance analytics. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with large datasets, writing complex SQL independently and translating data into actionable insights. In this role, you will help build scalable reporting frameworks, identify optimization opportunities and support personalization initiatives across our

communication ecosystem.

You will contribute directly to experimentation, performance analysis and automation that influence real business decisions.


What You'll Do

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve engagement and downstream conversion through data analysis
  • Write SQL queries to analyze campaign performance across regions, countries, customer segments and lifecycle stages
  • Build automated reports and operationalize insights into repeatable frameworks to track business impact from campaigns
  • Identify trends in topic performance and send timing to assess the impact of frequency and user fatigue
  • Analyze incremental lift and performance by segmentation and content strategy
  • Evaluate how subject lines, body length and messaging themes correlate with engagement and business impact
  • Develop and execute advanced targeting logic based on behavioral and lifecycle criteria to generate complex send lists
  • Partner with ML teams to support feature validation and measure the performance of model-driven cohorts against control groups


What You'll Bring

  • Strong SQL skills (ability to independently write complex queries)
  • Experience working with large datasets (internship, academics or research experience)
  • Ability to translate analysis into clear insights and recommendations
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and defining structured approaches
  • Experience with A/B testing or experimentation frameworks preferred
  • Familiarity with Python or data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) preferred
  • Interest in personalization, lifecycle communications, or ML applications preferred
  • Experience working cross-functionally preferred

Expected Compensation
$20.91 - $38.70/hour + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
